Climb Kalamazoo can help you plan your next outdoor climbing adventure. Whether it’s you and your family looking for a new kind of vacation, an outing for your organization, or a trip for a group of friends, outdoor guided trips can help you learn how to make climbing a part of the rest of your life.

Each year, Climb Kalamazoo has many scheduled trips to the following areas:

Red River Gorge, Kentucky              
Foster Falls, Tennessee      
Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin     

All of our guiding trips can accommodate many different needs. The average trip is 2-3 days and the average cost is $100/person per day. These fees include all crag side services, including lunch. Climb Kalmazoo will provide all necessary CLIMBING equipment for all of the trips. Customers provide own transportation and lodging. The trips will be lead by our senior guide and climbing gym owner Mark Kubas. He has been climbing for 13 years, guiding for 4 years, holds his Wilderness First Responder certification and carries a permit to guide in the Red River Gorge. One of few permited guides.

We currently offer the following classes:

Beginner’s Outdoor: No experience or exposure necessary. If you feel the need to see where this sport will take you even before you start climbing inside, this trip will show you what it is all about.

This trip will teach belay instruction through lead climbing requirements.

Outdoor Intro to Leading (Traditional and Sport): Participants will climb outdoors under the safety of a top rope, anchored off either sport or lead anchors. This trip will focus on basic skills such as clipping, face climbing techniques, and rope management. The course will also introduce the climber to the use of sport and traditional anchors.

Sport Lead Climbing: The goal for this trip is for each individual to gain the skills necessary to safely climb outdoors following completion of the trip.

Introduction to Traditional Anchors: This class will focus on traditional climbing, hanging belays, equalized anchors, and much more!

Individual guiding: If you have 4 or more people we can plan and tailor a trip to your style and needs.
