SAFETY LESSON – $10

This class teaches basic belay and safety instruction.

While wearing a climbing harness you will learn how to:

1. Attach your harness to a rope using a figure-eight with follow-through and a safety knot.
2. How to belay (manage the rope from the ground) with a tube style belay device directly from a harness and correct use of climbing safety equipment.
3. Appropriately use climbing safety commands and catch an unexpected fall.

 

To qualify for instruction you must be at least 14 years old, regardless of height or weight. Cost is a one-time fee of $10. Takes approximately 30-45 minutes. No appointment necessary, Lessons offered during the following times:

Monday-Thursday :	12:00PM - 8:00PM (last one starts at 7:15)
Friday and Saturday:	12:00PM -8:00PM (last one starts at 7:15)
Sunday:	12:00PM - 5:00PM (last one starts at 5:15)

 

 

SAFETY CHECK- $3

In order to belay in our facility you must demonstrate competency of the above skills.
Cost is a one-time fee of $3. No appointment necessary. Safety checks offered during regular business hours.

TECHNIQUE LESSON - $40/ hour

 

Want to gain in confidence with your feet underneath you?
Want to make yourself more effective with movement on the wall or simply keep your forearms from blowing up?

One of our trained staff will work with you on your individual needs. Allow for at least two weeks to schedule.

LEAD LESSON - $50

 

Lead climbing is the manner of climbing where you clip the rope through protection as you gain in vertical. This is a requirement of climbing outside in many parts of the country.

Must demonstrate competency for the following:

- Correct use of climbing safety equipment

- Figure-eight know w/ follow through directly on harness

- Proper climbing safety commands

- Correct safe belay method directly form harness

- Proper clipping and rope management practices

- Must catch unexpected fall

- Proper attention to amount of rope in play

 

Lead lessons will be by appointment only

LEAD CHECK - $5

Must demonstrate compentency for the above lead climbing skills.
